Liveable City, Austin’s quality of life advocates, will hold the 5th Annual Liveable Vision Awards on May 21 to recognize outstanding community-led initiatives, private sector accomplishments, and advocacy efforts supporting a livable community.

The 2008 Vision Awardees include the Create Austin Cultural Plan, Austin Voices for Education Initiative, HelioVolt Solar Manufacturing, Texas Campaign for the Environment and Dell Computer Recycling, and Butler Park (formerly Town Lake Park).

The Awards presentation will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, from 6:00-7:30 pm at the Carver Museum, 1165 Angelina St. The 2008 Vision Awards are original art pieces created by local artists at Fisterrra Studio.

The Liveable Vision Award categories cover the five “E’s” or essential elements of sustaining a livable city: Engagement, Economy, Equity, Environment, and Esthetics.
