About Liveable City

Liveable City is a nonprofit, nonpartisan research and advocacy organization that works to address the long-term social, environmental, and economic needs of the people of Austin. Founded in 2002 by a diverse alliance of public policy experts and seasoned community advocates, Liveable City views individual community issues as part of a complex whole, employing an interdisciplinary approach firmly rooted in rigorous public policy analysis and broad community collaboration.
LC’s priority issues include: the environment, education, culture, housing, health care, transportation, neighborhoods, and the economy. Focusing on the interconnectedness of these issues, Liveable City examines public policies, develops innovative models and strengthens community leadership to address critical issues facing our city and to ensure an equitable and sustainable future for all Austinites.
